Our Season Opens!

Posted 5/2/2018 8:45pm by Sally Voris .

Our season opens as we celebrate May Day on Sunday, May 6 from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. This season, our efforts will focus on being present to Nature.

For our May Day celebration, we will pick herbs and fresh flowers, make flower garlands, crowns and staffs and set up the May pole. Then will weave satin ribbons around the May pole in the traditional dance accompanied by the live music of Artie and the Vipers.

Beech Tree Puppets will share the story, "Butterfly Wonder," a lap puppet show. The May Day festivities are open to the public with the price of admission. A potluck meal follows the festivities for circle members. Bring your family and friends.

Event Admission: Adult/$12; Child/$6; Family/$30 (Circle members receive a 20% discount if they register ahead online. ) Register here.

Our next Global Sisterhood gathering will be held on Tuesday, May 15 from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. at the farmhouse. The event is free and open to all women. We ask for donations to support women refugees. Leah Mack, a local farmer, will lead the gathering with the theme: "Empowered Body: I honor my body as a temple."

Our women's circle will meet next on Saturday, June 30. We decided as a group to participate in May Day, as there was no date within two weeks of our opening that seemed to work for our core group.

And again, I expect to host people at the farmhouse this year. I am still working out the details.....

Happy Spring and hope to see you soon!

Quiet time is starting....

Hazel is back! She is pregnant and due midwinter. Our thanks to Leah Mack, at whose farm Hazel and Daisy spent the summer with a virile bull.  Now we want to find Daisy, a pure-bred Jersey, a new home. She is pregnant and due mid-spring. Interested? Please contact me. Thanks. Sally
